Carribbean Stud is a popular game in land-based and online casinos.

Card Values And Rankings
All cards have their face value and are ranked in the following order
A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, Ace can be either high or

Caribbean Stud Rules
The table has three betting areas. An ante, a bet and a bonus
zone. To play you need to put a bet on at least the bet section of
the table. The bonus is optional and will be discused further down.
You are then dealt five cards and the dealer is dealt five cards,
four face down and one face up. Your aim is to make the best possible
hand according to standard Poker

At this point you have to choose whether to bet or to fold. A simple
strategy to follow is to always call if you have A, K, J, ?, ? or
higher or if you have an Ace and a King and one of the dealers face
cards. If you opt to bet you have to place double your ante in the
bet area. Once you have made your decision the dealer will reveal
his / her hand - the showdown. At this point you hands are compared
and the best poker hand wins.
One of the most frustrating features of Caribbean Stud is the fact
that the dealers hand must qualify for you to be paid out on a winning
hand. If the dealer fails to qualify you get double your ante and
your bet back but this can be quite annoying if for instance you have
a four of a king or another big hand. The dealer must get at least
Ace, King to qualify. This is where the bonus bet can come in handy.
The bonus side bet which usually costs an additional dollar per hand
pays out on all wins that are a flush or higher. The pay outs vary
from casino to casino but the standard bonus pay for a flush is $50
and for a royal is 100% of the jackpot total. A straight flush gets
you 10% of the jackpot. The great thing about the bonus is that the
dealer does not have to qualify for you to be paid - kind of like
insurance for those big hands.
