Introduction
If you are planning to play any casino game that is a variation of
poker it is well worthwhile spending some time to memorize the following
hands. These are the rankings from highest to lowest, we have also
listed the odds of any particular hand being dealt in a five card
deal from one deck of cards.
Royal Flush - 1 In 649,739
An ace high straight flush. Eg. Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten all of
the same suit
Straight Flush - 1 In 72,192
Five sequential cards of the same suit. Eg. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 all
of diamonds
Four of a kind - 1 In 4,164
Four cards of the same value. Eg : King (Clubs), King (Diamonds),
King (Spade) and King (Hearts)
Full House - 1 In 693
Three of a kind and a pair.
Flush - 1 In 508
Five cards of the same suit. (Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts, Spades)
Straight - 1 In 254
Five cards with sequential values of differing suits
Three of a kind - 1 In 46
Three cards with the same value.
Two Pair - 1 In 20
Two separate pairs of cards with the same value.
Pair - 1 In 2.4
Two cards of the same value.
High Card - 1 In 1
No other combination, the value of the highest card wins
