Game Introduction
One of the most popular casinos games is roulette. It is a very easy
game to understand and takes seconds to learn how to play. As with
most games that are easy to learn the house edge on roulette is quite
high. To maximize your chances of winning we highly recommend only
playing on tables with a single zero rather than double zero.
Game Rules
First need to get some chips. Unlike other casino games such
as blackjack, the chips at land-based roulette tables have no value
printed on them. When you make a buy in you get a certain number of
chips depending on how much you buy in for and all the chips have
the same value. The croupier will place a marker on your chip color
which indicates their value. You must cash in your chips when you
leave the table.
When you are ready to play, you can place chips on the betting area.
There are quite a few different bets which we outline below. Odds
depend on the type of bets you make. The wheel is then spun and a
ball is dropped into the wheel. When the ball comes to rest a number
is called and all bets that were on that number win.
Types Of Roulette Bets
Straight Up : This is a bet placed on just one number and it pays
off 35 to 1.
Split : Place a chip half on one number and half on another, this
pays 17 to 1.
Street : A bet placed at the end of a row covering three numbers which
pays off at odds of 11 to 1.
Corner : Place a chip on the line dissecting four numbers. Pay off
for this is 8 to 1.
Line : Place a chip on the line between two rows. This covers six
numbers and pays off at 5 to 1 odds
Column : A bet placed at the end of a column which covers twelve numbers,
pays off 2 to 1
Dozen : Place a chip in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd section. Pays off 2 to
1 and covers twelve of the numbers
Red or Black : This is bet on the color of the number, it covers half
the table and pays 2 to 1
Odds or Evens : Bet on whether the next number will be odd or even
for a 2 to 1 pay off.
Different Tables
There are two main varieties of roulette. These are single zero or
double zero. The single zero game has a lower house edge than the
double zero as there is one less number on the wheel. IN some European
casinos you will get a chance to win back your bet on red or black
if the ball lands on zero.
